Social Technology
There are different social technologies we can use to interact and deliberate. They vary and getting the right one and understanding how to use them appropriately leads to good outcomes rather than frustration. We are using several here on Econet:
Seminars
There is a weekly community economics meeting held by Marcus Petz which takes the seminar format. This means a broad topic is selected and different investigators present status of their investigations and we discuss issues and aspects of those investigations. There have been further discussions about this format with Andrius and Marcus.
S.T.O.P.
This is both a tool and as developed as Fullmoon Fullstop a social technology. It happens monthly and we have a list of when the fullmoons happen so you can take part if you like.
Circle
Gail Koelln the host of the Biodiversity and Conservation Circle on Ecohana describes it thus. "Good question, Marcus Petz! A Circle is place for people to come together to explore a specific topic or theme through discussions, share resources and ideas (links to to videos and articles, for example), and also offer specific events, such as a learning journey. If you click on the Biodiversity and Conservation link, you will see what is being offered there so far. There's not much yet, as it is a new Circle."
Learning Journey
We are working on a learning journey as a Solidarity Sprint.
Congressing
See Congressing thread for a bioregional congress as a social technology.
This can be expanded into the idea of a confluence. There are plans for some confluences to happen around the R3.0 Conference 2025 which follows on from the 2024 and is also discussed on the And Now What Facebook group and is being considered by Hope Rootz - see their wiki page for expression of interest.
