- Louis Foxwell, known on YouTube as Father Fish,, is a seasoned fish keeper with 70 years of experience. His simple, easy, and natural methods insure healthy, happy tropical fish in your aquarium. Lou adopted the role of Father Fish many years ago when he opened a tropical fish store as a retirement business. Prior to this he served as a missionary for 25 years, following in his father's footsteps by ministering to a congregation of deaf worshippers. Lou fondly recalls his grandmother, Lena, from Berlin, Germany, who inspired his love for fish keeping as a child. As a founder and original board member of the National Aquarium, Lou played a significant role in its development, serving as chair of the Community Relations Committee and participating in the Search Committees.
- Father Fish. Top 9 Questions for a Natural Aquarium He talks about the importance of leaves as the primary source of food for the freshwater ecosystem. He works with Tommy Denda who researches leaves.

- Reddit r/aquariums Is it possible to create a real ecosystem inside a fish tank? I also recommend checking out the Father Fish youtube channel and discord, the "food web" is exactly what they aim to accomplish and its quite easy and can be done for ANY tank size with an ample supply of dried leaves and sticks + initial seed of microfauna from nature. But then these leaves and stick would count as "human input" as they need to be replenished in a few months.

- We are a small team of aquascaping hobbyists dedicated to providing the highest quality of common and rare aquatic plants. Our vision started when we first discovered the beauty of Bucephalandra. Fascination quickly turned into obsession. As we continued to seek out and acquire more, it became evident that the hobby was lacking a reliable source for “Buce.”
- Our mission and priority is simple; to provide top quality Bucephalandra, other aquarium plants, and aquascaping supplies to our fellow hobbyists, thereby spreading the contagious love for planted tanks.

- The Walstad Method Tank Guide Diana Walstad, the technical advisor for the Aquatic Gardeners Association and renowned ecologist, popularized the Walstad Method tank, or the Walstad aquarium, which is more generally known as the “dirted tank.” Diana goes into depth on this concept in her book, "Ecology of the Planted Aquarium," which includes in-depth details on how to setup up a thriving environment. The Walstad Method is a natural method for making your own balanced aquarium (or ecosystem) that can be almost completely self-sufficient without a filter or regular water changes. A "balanced ecosystem" has fish and aquatic plants that support each other and will not require any CO2 injection or added fertilization. ... With a Walstad Method tank, you may only have to do a 25-50% water change twice a year (or every 6 months).
