Work in Parallel

A key characteristic of healthy thinking is the ability to work-in-parallel.

It is not best if we all do the same thing. It is helpful if we can work-in-parallel doing a variety of things.

Furthermore, it is important that each person work on many levels: individual, family, community, regional, national and global. Sometimes we may have the great effects on the global level but they depend on the integrity and understanding we gain on our personal, family and community levels.

Healthy thinking also depends on our ability to allow for differing perspectives, such as free will and fate, without choosing one or the other, without descending into arguments. These "divisions of everything" allow us to function abstractly, let go of our personal experiences and our conceptual languages, and consider deeper truths.

Working in parallel also means that we can work and that we can do so independently. We can coordinate with others, but in any event, we have something to coordinate, something to contribute. We are able to work alone. We are able to work in parallel with those we are not aware of, including those beyond our world as we know it.

Working in parallel along with solidarity encourages moderation. What do we ourselves truly need? How does what we have serve others? We can think about the others who we are working in parallel with. We can think of all of nature that we are part of. We can let go of all that simply burdens us, especially when we choose our own challenges, especially the great challenge of wholeness.
