Wholeness

Every one of us is the center of the universe. Every one of us brings together all of its dimensions. Every one of us is equally challenged to make sense of all of life. Every one of us is called to unfold in our bounty of talents. Every one of us is meant to serve and contribute to all of us.

Much of our civilization is designed to let us escape these challenges or pressure us not to take them up. Healthy thinking challenges us to be well rounded, and consequently, independent, able to function, find meaning, work and live alone.

As independent, sovereign, autonomous beings, we are able to understand, practically and theoretically, our many limitations but also our ability to persist regardless. This allows us to accept and embrace our interdependence, not as slaves but as free people. This allows us to enjoy others as our friends and equals. This allows us to recognize that which is greater than us. This allows us to recognize those who need help, to help them, and likewise, to recognize when we need help, and to receive help.
