Positivity

Arguably the key feature of healthy thinking is that it is positive, which is to say, healthy.

Positivity means that we are always able to occupy ourselves, apply ourselves, further ourselves with activity that we ourselves find meaningful, which could be simply thinking but also sleeping, resting, caring, praying, smiling, crying, being delighted or enjoying life.

Positivity means that we are always able to find something to be grateful for, to appreciate the bigger picture. We are able to recognize and appreciate that we are loved and that our love is likewise meaningful.

Positivity is sober. Positivity manifests itself through positive activity, proactive and reactive. Positivity is aware of what is functioning and what is dysfunctional. Positivity learns, adjusts, dreams anew. Positivity is a resource that may have limits but never ends, thus should be cherished, respected, protected and expected. A little bit of positivity is sufficient. "Always show good will" and yet we may show just a bit at a time and never run out.

Positivity is constructive. Positivity is not focused on the destructive. Positivity is not battling the destructive. Positivity can ignore, give way, engage, understand, empathize with, befriend, defend against, chastise and convert the destructive. Positivity is not destroyed by the destructive. Positivity is not defined by the destructive. Positivity is beyond the destructive. Positivity is independent, autonomous, sovereign.

Positivity means that we are able to be alone. In our aloneness, we are one with others in this world and beyond this world.

Positivity means that we are able to take care of ourselves and also take care of others.

Positivity has us choose our own challenges in life, our endeavors, what we want to live for, applying, unfolding and revealing our positivity, thus making sense from a higher vantage point, the big picture.
