An Introduction to Living by Truth
Welcoming investigators
We have written this booklet to welcome you as an investigator.
We are coming together as an investigatory community for absolute truth. We are discovering how our personal truths stand on absolute truth, our personal visions come together in an understanding vision, our personal cultures are nurtured by a universal culture, our personal values manifest a love that transcends personal values, our personal dreams contribute to a dream we can all share.
Investigation has us let go of our answers - our prejudices, and our questions - our preconceptions, and contemplate how our investigations take us from questions to answers. We enter an abstract void, challenging but simple, where truth links questions and answers, where we can document the inherent limits of our imagination, seek and find deep agreement regarding them, and grow fluent in a language of wisdom based on them, a conceptual language we call Wondrous Wisdom.
So far, as investigators, we agree to make two commitments, which are the subject of this booklet.
Most importantly, each of us agrees to spend an hour a month thinking about the big picture in life. What is the vantage point by which we transcend ourselves? What does life look like from that point of view? This allows us to believe that our questions can actually have answers which are clear, sound, useful, helpful, meaningful, coherent, durable for ourselves but also for others, and in that sense, absolutely true.
Furthermore, each of us agrees to spend an hour a month reflecting on a question that we are personally investigating, considering especially why we are investigating it and how we should. This means that, as investigators, we are cognizant, deliberate, willful, reflective. We live in full fledged consciousness, responsible for our lives, thoughts, actions, decisions. Each of us chooses what question to investigate, and what are the steps by which we carry it out. We are thus fully aware of how our question leads us to our answer.
The purpose of this booklet is to welcome all who wish to make these commitments. Andrius Kulikauskas, whose deepest value in life is living by truth, is transmitting this culture to Marcus Petz, whose deepest value is meaningful inclusion. We are sharing what we learned in the communities which Andrius organized: Minciu Sodas from 1998 to 2010, Math 4 Wisdom, since 2022, and Econet, since 2024.
Living by Truth is our name for this culture of investigation by which we transcend ourselves, our answers and our questions, what we know and what we don't know, and rather identify with the ways we figure thing out. We are thus aware of ourselves and we seek and find awareness with others. We welcome all who walk with wonder on the path of wisdom.
